Shiela the Shop Car is a 1971 Firebird Formula.

Lisa and I bought this car in 2014 and it was really rough. Shiela was the name of the lady who sold us the car. So naturally we had to name the car Shiela. Shiela sat in our garage in California for a year or so before we started restoring her. We found a 1969 Pontiac 400 out of a Firebird and rebuilt that engine. We restored the interior and dropped in the engine and drove her for a short bit before she got parked in the back corner of the garage. Then we moved to Tennessee and she came along with us.

I had been kicking around the idea of building a car using the parts we sell to promote the Graveyard and what parts we have available. I thought it would be nice to have a car that customers could check out to see what we offer for sale and how the parts fit and function. Then we went on the 2021 Bandit Run and Dave Hall let Lisa and I drive his LS powered 1973 Trans Am for the week. We really enjoyed the car and I knew then I had to build a nice LS powered semi pro touring car. Shiela was the perfect candidate.

I stripped Shiela down to the bare shell and frame and started the build. I contacted the various companies we sell parts for and asked if they wanted to be involved in the project and they all jumped in. It took about 18 months to complete the car and I learned a lot along the way. You can see pictures below of the progress.
